As in most parts of the UK, Storm Eunice really made its presence felt last Friday here at Ingestone Fishery, swiftly followed by Storm Franklin. We were keeping our eyes on the flooding that we knew would follow and sure enough the Wye produced some of its highest river levels we have ever seen peaking at lunchtime on Tuesday 22nd. The village was completely cut off for a while and sadly, as you can see from the photos, the flooding has brought down a few of our beautiful trees along the bank. With the floodwaters now receded, we have been able to reach all areas of the fishery to assess the damage. Where it is safe and practical to do so we are now starting repair and clearance work as a matter of urgency. However some of these trees are real whoppers and given their current fallen positions, it may take some time - so please bear with us!
