River Conditions Policy
The River Wye is a living river, and conditions change through the season. We monitor river levels, water temperature and fish welfare closely. From time to time - during drought, sustained high water temperatures, flood, a pollution incident, or at the request of a regulator we may announce or support a pause in fishing for the welfare of the river and its inhabitants.
Fishing during a pause
Fishing at Ingestone is currently exclusive to members of our private syndicates. A welfare pause does not suspend membership, but while a pause is in place we ask all members and their guests to refrain from fishing until we confirm that conditions have recovered. Observing a pause is expected of all members and guests under our Fishery Rules and Guidelines. Resumption will be announced to members based on a sustained recovery in conditions - for example, river levels and water temperatures.
Cottage stays during a pause
Bookings at Lavender Cottage are for accommodation only and do not include fishing (see our Terms and Conditions). A pause in fishing does not close the cottage - it remains open, and guests are very welcome to enjoy their stay as booked. In the unlikely event that an extreme event affects the property itself, the cottage Terms and Conditions apply.River conditions, the weather, or a pause in fishing do not give rise to any refund, credit or change of dates. Any request to move dates will be considered at the owner’s discretion and subject to availability. Where offered, a change of dates is a goodwill gesture and not an entitlement.
